Haw River Trail
The Haw River Trail is being built on the belief that the first step to conservation is appreciation and that allowing the public to experience the Haw River first hand via land a paddle trails will create interest and respect for the River. The concept and drive behind the Haw River Trail are the product of the vision and hard work of local citizens, organizations and governments dating back more than a decade.

Volunteer Opportunity

The Friends of the Mountains to Sea Trail helps to build and maintain sections of the MST throughout the State. The Haw River Trail Task Force is the local group that holds trail work days throughout the year, as well as hikes and special events on the Haw River Trail. Newcomers are welcome at our workdays and all the tools and equipment you need will be provided for you.
